Please book wedding calligraphy to avoid disappointment
Calligraphy - the art of beautiful writing - can enhance your wedding or party stationery, provide a handwritten gift for a friend or loved one, document years of family history research, or record the achievements of students or staff. Choosing handwritten work over a typed equivalent will provide the recipient with something to treasure.
During the main wedding season I am very busy. If you would like work to be completed between April and September, you are advised to book. A small deposit will secure a time slot for your work. Click here to view examples of commissions.
While most of my customers are from the Suffolk, Essex and Norfolk areas a sizeable proportion of work is sent to London, the rest of the UK and Europe. To ensure safe receipt, work is sent to you via Royal Mail Special Delivery or courier.
Please request a sample of writing on a place card so that you can compare my work with that of other scribes you may have contacted.

December 2011. This commission is a Christmas present for Conor's girlfriend. The text was written in blue, red and purple and had a small illustration at the top.

"I thought you might like to see your handy work and see how it worked, everything was beautiful." Liz T. Essex. April 2009. Liz sent a link to her online photographs to show how well the handwritten menus, escort cards and place cards coordinated with her 1920's style wedding.
"Have received the card thanks Christine - looks very good." John N. Manchester. March 2009. This advertising company commissioned a handcrafted presentation card and handmade envelope which was presented to The Duke of Gloucester.
"Thank you. Your hard work is much appreciated and greatly admired!" Mary M. Leicestershire. November 2008. Mary ordered 250 place cards with names in calligraphy for a family member's party.
"Thank you so much for the envelopes, they are beautifully done. Everything is perfect and everyone has commented on where I got them done so hopefully you will get some more work." Lisa R. Spain. April 2008. Lisa had guest names written on the inner and outer invitation envelopes. The work was sent by courier to Spain.

Milena G. London. June 2007. Milena commissioned two poems to be written for a christening. The work was completed at short notice.

Price guide
Handwritten names on your place cards - first name 60p, full name 90p. For examples click here
Handwritten names on your invitations - 35p per word, (Sarah Johnson = 70p) or (Sarah and David Johnson = £1.40). Maximum charge is £1.40.
Addressing of envelopes (5 lines) - £3 each. Additional lines cost 60p.
Seating plan - click here
Poems and readings - approximate cost which is dependent upon the layout of the text, style of writing and number of colours used. Up to 50 words - £50, 51 - 100 words - £70, 101 - 150 words - £90, 151 - 200 words - £110, 201 - 250 words - £130, 251 - 300 words - £150. There will be an additional charge for illustrative elements.
Family tree - depends on number of names, extra information to be written and the arrangement.
Wedding certificates and signature boards - depends on length of text and design elements.
Design of a wedding invitation, order of service or menu to be printed - from £80
